If you are applying for the concession stand at your local movie theater or local fast food joint, you can probably wear whatever you like to your job interview.

Closing down clampers for good – that’s the ultimate aim of a website created in response to car park activity at Glyne Gap.
Wheelclampers.org was set up by a St Leonards webdesigner to draw public attention to what is called the clamping “hotspot” in Bexhill.
The 36 year old who wishes to be known as ‘John’ decided to take action when his father was clamped in the former free car park at Glyne Gap while attending a boot sale and realised he could do nothing but pay the fine.
John said: “After a little investigating, it turns out that this site is a clamping hotspot where the clampers can clamp as many as 50 victims a day if the boot sale is on.
“They literally stake out the place all day, waiting for their prey…we decided to name and shame the people behind the clamping company and to take direct action to stop other motorists from being clamped in that car park, effectively depriving the clampers of their income. On our first action we stopped 27 people getting clamped and deprived the clamping company of [pounds sterling]2,565.”
The site has only been online for just over a week and is still under construction but the idea is to make a database of “all similar hotspots throughout the UK where the clampers can clamp multiple victims in a few short hours.
John commented: “We then want the site to be used to co-ordinate direct action against the clampers as we have done. The introduction of licensing for clamping businesses and front line clampers by the Security Industry Authortiy has put an end to the worst excesses of this morally repugnant business, however it is our hope to close down the clampers for good.”
The group is not involved in condoning illegal parking or clamp removal, but advocates direct legal action such as handing out flyers to people entering the car park or as they are just about to leave the site – many of whom still think the car park is free. Scouts watch for clampers and pretend to leave the vehicle in order to “lure” them into the open and film them.

He was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to death by hanging, and was put in solitary confinement to await his death sentence.
In 1920, President Woodrow Wilson commuted his death sentence to life imprisonment without parole, mainly due to the plea of Stroud?s old mother. However, his unpredictable outbursts and violent nature forced the authorities to permanently transfer Stroud to the segregation unit.
In Leavenworth, Stroud began to develop a keen interest in birds and he was allowed breed them and maintain a lab. He even authored two books on canaries and their diseases. However, as prison officials began to discover some the equipment that he had requested for his so-called “scientific” studies had actually been used to craft a still for “home-brew,” he was transferred to Alcatraz in 1942 to spend the rest of his days.
Robert Stroud spent the next seventeen years in Alcatraz Prison. Even here, he was put in segregation in D Block for six years. In 1963, he was found dead from natural causes at the Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri, after he had spent 11 years in the Prison Hospital.

RETIRED nurses and local business people are among those who have been giving their views on plans to redevelop the former Derbyshire Royal Infirmary site. Hospital bosses have put forward plans for a housing and retail development on the unused section of the site, while the rest will continue to be used for London Road Community Hospital.
The proposal is for the 20-acre area to house an Olympic-sized swimming pool, 450 homes, offices, a hotel and a supermarket.
The development would be branded the Nightingale Quarter in recognition of the centenary of the death of Florence Nightingale, who was raised in Derbyshire.
Yesterday, a consultation event began at the Stuart Hotel in London Road which will run until 7pm this evening.
The plans on display showed the majority of the area would be used for terraced housing, with hospital bosses saying was a shortage of quality housing in the city.
There will also be a strip of land for offices, restaurants and cafes running along London Road. The end of the site closest to Westfield, facing on to Bradshaw Way, will be used for a supermarket.
London Road will be landscaped and turned into a European-style boulevard, which the hospital says will make more of the Queen Victoria and Florence Nightingale statues at the edge of the site.
Margaret Dixon, of Rykneld Road, Littleover, used to run a garage near the hospital and said the plans would improve the area.
She said: “People have got to live somewhere and it’s a brownfield site so that’s good.
“Young people like to live in the city centre and they don’t want much garden space so it will be ideal.”
The land earmarked for the development has been unused since the majority of health services moved to Royal Derby Hospital last year, when the DRI was downscaled and was renamed London Road Community Hospital.
Under the new plans, the DRI building with its characterful “onion domes” would stay and be used either for apartments or offices.
But the concrete tower block and the extension on to the main building which formerly housed the casualty department would be torn down, as would the office building Devonshire House.
Retired nurse Jane Roy, of Osmaston Road, said the plans looked good but more detail was needed.
She said: “I want to know exactly how many houses there will be and whether they will be for sale or to rent.”
An outline planning application is set to be submitted to the city council in early October following the consultation.
If planning permission is approved, the trust will sell off the land for the supermarket development first to use the money it gets from that to invest in health care.
